The Best Music You’ve Never Heard

The Fieldhouse Music Artist of the Month for November is
Ed Hale and the Transcendence!

We would like to celebrate with the band on the release of their brand new album The Great Mistake. The twelve-song record will be officially released on November 6th.

The Great Mistake was recorded at the Dungeon Studios in Miami with the full band lineup. Band members include Ed Hale (lead vocals, guitar), Fernando Perdomo (lead guitar), Roger Houdaille (bass), Ricardo Mazzi (drums), Bill Sommer (drums), and Allan Gabay (keyboard).

The band is represented by the record label Dying Van Gough , who decided it should be the loyal fans that choose the first single off the new album. Fans voted by means of a Facebook survey, and after a 48-hour tie-breaker, “I Remember You” came out on top. The band released the single through a Charitable Check on their website. All donations go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Great Mistake “is by far the most raw and spontaneous albums the band has ever recorded in their ten years together and features twelve never before heard songs that range from upbeat and tuneful garage pop to ecstatically wild indie rockers.” –Edhale.com

The album was recorded simultaneously with the previous Ed Hale and the Transcendence album All Your Heroes Become Villains(released Nov 2011) but the two albums are vastly different in sound.

“In Transcendence, you have a group of five or more (laughs) totally hyperactive, obsessive, insane guys with severe cases of ADD and an extreme passion for music, all running around trying to make sense of everything they are listening to and each wanting to create their own personal artistic statements — the chances of that translating into any two albums sounding remotely similar is going to be pretty slim.”
– Ed Hale (New York Times.)
The band was most recently seen performing in the 2012 CMJ Music Marathon, at Pete’s Candy Store on October 17th and as part of the Fieldhouse Music CMJ Showcase on October 18th.

Lead Singer Ed Hale is also well-known for his solo work, making Billboard’s Top 40 Adult Contemporary chart with radio hit “Scene in San Fransisco.” Ed Hale has been nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media Award for “Scene in San Fransisco” as the Adult Contemporary/Triple A “Song of the Year!” The award ceremony will take place in LA on November 15th.

At Fieldhouse Music, we love working with Ed Hale and now feel like we have really hit the jackpot working with the entire Transcendence band. We see GREAT things in store for The Great Mistake, which could hardly be considered a mistake at all!
