Both vocalists for the band, Shae and Mireya have sung together for ten years and have incredible vocal chemistry. The band goes by the name Flor de Toloache, after a poisonous night flower used in the making of love potions, according to Central American tradition.

The band is currently fundraising for an upcoming debut album, with performances at New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall. The next show is scheduled for Friday, April 5th at 12:30am! The album will be half Spanish/ half English, featuring a jazz medley (Ella Fitgerald, Mongo Santamaria) Mexican classics, and some original compositions. Shae also composes original music for the band and a mariachi version of her song “Let Down” will be on the album, as well as at least one other new composition.

The members are some of the best musicians in New York City and come from all different ethnic backgrounds from all over the world. To learn more about the girls in the band, click the logo for their feature in Screen Shot 2013-03-31 at 5.17.32 PM
