Boxed Wine

boxedwineBoxed Wine is an indie party pop band from New Jersey that pride themselves on writing songs that nix pop, rock, and dance vibes into one big catchy mess. The group came about when songwriters Chris Mactire and Ralph Nicastro entered the real world, hated it, and decided to start making the kind of music they listened to in school. After finally getting a solid lineup together with friends Mike Cerisano and Steve McCarthy, the band quickly put out some music and started referring to themselves in the third person. It took the group a while to come up with a name as meaningful as Boxed Wine, but they believe it says everything it should. Their influences are quite varied, but they generally love mixing classic pop song structures with fuzzy bass and disco beats. Ultimately, their goal is to make music that anybody can enjoy and dance along with. Thus far, the band has released two EPs and a full length LP. Their sound ranges from garage rock to flat out indie dance rock, and they have future plans to push in a more electronic direction while keeping the guitar hooks that let them stand out. They’ve been compared favorably to Vampire Weekend, Two Door Cinema Club, Matt & Kim, Foster the People, and Hot Hot Heat.
