paulPEPPAS_iTunes-Logo paulPEPPAS (aka Paul Ottinger) is a Songwriter/Composer who hails from Washington, DC. He is a 15 year national/international touring veteran and co-founder of the band Virginia Coalition (VACO). As a keyboard player and principal songwriter for the group he was part of 6 studio album releases and 2 live records. During the peak years of their touring, VACO played as many as 250 shows a year while sharing the stage with acts like Maroon 5, John Mayer, Dispatch, OAR, The Black Eyed Peas, Gavin DeGraw, Sister Hazel, Matt Nathanson, Marc Broussard, G-Love and Special Sauce, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, The Roots, Counting Crows, Blondie, and RUN-DMC.

Before he embarked on his Rock n Roll life, he received a scholarship to the University of Miami School of Music where he studied Music Theory and Composition. He also spent a year living in a converted monastery in Vienna, Austria studying the symphonic works of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven at the Hochschule fur Musik. For the past 3 years, in addition to his work with the band, he was busy pursuing his passion for teaching as the Music Director for the School of Rock in Washington, DC where he taught Bass, Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, Vocals, Songwriting, and Band Performance to kids ages 5 – 17. More and more during this period he began to focus on his solo writing efforts which were starting to bear fruit, until in October of 2012 he made the move from DC to LA and began to pursue his career in Songwriting/Composition full time. paulPEPPAS currently makes his home and draws his inspiration from the artist enclave of Venice, CA.
